Fall is my favorite time of year, but for some reason I don’t feel quite ready to say goodbye to summer this year. Maybe it’s because we homeschool our three kiddos, and that means a lot more tasks on Mom and Dad’s plate. 😉 It’s always a little bittersweet closing out the summer. But I will say, fall clothing makes my heart SO happy! I love all the cozy knits and moody colors and I’m excited to share what I have picked for this seasons fall capsule.
First off, as always, let’s do a little recap from previous capsules. If you are new to the term “capsule wardrobe”, let me break it down for you. A capsule wardrobe is a smaller currated group of clothing items that cohesively work together to create multiple different outfits. This concept is very popular with the minimalist crowd and someone who likes getting the most out of their wardrobe. The huge benefit to a capsule wardrobe is that you can customize it to exactly what you need and pick colors that flatter you most. I usually tend to pick neutral and earthly tones for my fall collections, but you can easily swap out the colors I’ve chosen for ones that best suit your complexion. The same thing goes for swapping out pieces that best fit your lifestyle. For example…If you work in an office, you may need to add in a few dressier pieces, and that’s perfectly fine! This is more of a starting point/template and you can add or take away things that work/don’t work for you. I did try to pick items that could easily be dressed up or down to fit a variety of lifestyles. I also am utilizing some pieces from our fall capsule last year. It’s not always possible for us to buy all new items each season, so bringing in some of the staples from previous collections is a great way to save money.
This Fall Capsule will be made up of 35 items total but the outfit options will be endless. I will be styling all of the pieces from this capsule series over the next couple of months to give you fresh inspiration on how to style your new wardrobe, so be sure you follow me on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with the styling ideas. As a reminder, things will go in and out of stock quickly. I unfortunately have zero control on how much stock the retailers have, so if you click on something that is out of stock, keep checking back and I’ll do the same to insure everyone gets a chance to snag the items they want. I’ll also add look a like items at the bottom of this post for out of stock items. Let’s dive in!
Capsule List

I also put together this Fall Capsule Checklist for you to have in your closet as a reference point. This way, you’ll have a guide when putting together your outfits. It’s also helpful for figuring out what items you already have in your closet and which items you need to purchase.

Undergarments
Now obviously the clothing in our capsule is important but something that is equally important….what we wear under them. I’m going to link my go to undergarments that are comfortable, breathable and don’t show lines under your clothing.
- THE BEST NO SHOW UNDERWEAR (these have a special lining so they stay in place all day and show zero lines even under leggings. I wear a small but size up if in between sizes)
- MY FAVORITE WIRELESS BRA (so incredibly comfortable and perfect for wearing under t-shirts this summer. They are true to size for me.)
- MY FAVORITE LAYERING TANKS (tts and thick enough to cover your bra straps)
Style Tips
Tip #1 – Cuffing your sleeves and doing a front tuck on your tops instantly elevates your look and makes the outfit look more polished.
Tip #2 – If bodysuits aren’t your thing, you can easily not buckle the bottom and just tuck it in for the same look. You can also buy fitted layering tops instead.
Tip #3 – Remember that adding a third layer to your outfit, whether that be a cardigan, jacket or accessories such as a belt or crossbody bag will complete your look and give it a more esthetically pleasing finish.
Tip #4 – Never underestimate the power of jewelry. I find that adding layered necklaces and a stack of bracelets instantly elevates your outfit.
