What is a capsule wardrobe you may ask? Well, it’s a simplified wardrobe that is created with staple pieces that can all be interchangeable, making the outfit options endless! A capsule wardrobe is ideal for the woman who wants to simplify their life and remove the stress of picking out their outfit every morning. When you have too many options, or things that you just don’t love hanging up in your closet, it makes getting dressed overwhelming. I’m here to help take that stress away by creating a full winter capsule wardrobe list. Let’s get started!
Purge Your Closet
First, go through your closet and get rid of all the things you no longer need. You can watch my video all on how to purge your closet here.
Pick Your Color Scheme
Pick the colors you want your capsule to be created around. This will look different for every person. I always go towards earth tones because that’s what I feel I look best in.
Print Out Your Capsule List
I’ve already done the hard work for you in creating the list, so all you need to do now is print it!

Shop Your Capsule List
Go through your closet and see what items you already own from the list and mark which items you need to buy. I’ll provide all the shopping links at the bottom of this post for easy shopping.
Start Creating Your Looks
Now the fun begins! Start mixing and matching your 35 capsule pieces to create tons of different looks. I can’t wait to see what you put together!
Here are some of the looks I created with this capsule list.

You can shop all 35 pieces to the capsule with the carousel below.

Please reach out if you have any questions. I look forward to continuing this series throughout the year!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hi! The link to print the list is broken 🙁
I just tried to fix it. Hopefully it works now. Sorry about that!
Nope, still broken 🙁
THANK YOU for this post!! I have purchased almost all the items, and am SO excited to have a near complete winter capsule wardrobe! I am a homeschool mom to two precious girls. I love to look cute, but definitely don’t have a lot of time to shop. Putting outfits together has always been difficult and stressful, but that has all changed since I began following you on LIKEtoKNOW.it. I LOVE your style, the warmth you bring to your posts, and that you aren’t afraid to write about your love for God! I have pretty much stopped shopping anywhere else, and only buy the things you post. It feels like I am supporting something good, and my shopping has more of a purpose now. I feel beyond blessed to have run across your blog on an internet search for modest, budget friendly fashion a few months ago. It has changed my life and my stress level in this area, ha! Thank you, again! I wish you all the best!
Hi Kim! This comment brought my heart so much joy. Thank you so much for your feedback and support. It means more than you know! ❤️
So excited to start building my capsule – I have ALWAYS struggled with fashion. I’m blending both the winter and spring lists because I live in Ohio and “winter” sticks around for a few more months yet. I’m pleased to see several items recycled from winter to spring! That’s very helpful!
One suggestion…for those (like me) who have trouble identifying the cardigan from the tunic from the (fill in the blank), I might suggest you do some flat lays with labels? I know it’s extra work and I am incredibly appreciative of all the work you’ve done thus far, but it would be super useful for all the noobs like myself. In any case, this post and the follow ups on Insta and IGTV are just what I need. Thank you so much!
