I know I wrote a post a couple of months ago about my favorite maternity pieces, but I wanted to elaborate a little more on how I get through dressing my bump with mostly non maternity items. If you are expecting, you know that maternity clothes aren’t cheap. For some reason I think they raise the prices on maternity stuff because they know we HAVE to have it at some point. But I like to find my way around that by finding items that aren’t maternity that will carry me through my 9 months and postpartum. So today I’m going to share the pieces that have gotten me through most of my pregnancy.
Pull on jeans
From my very small bump to my almost 8 month bump, these jeans have carried me through. Easy to pull on, and honestly so much more comfortable than my maternity jeans. Plus they always have great sales on them!
Jeans (I sized up 2 sizes from my normal size so they would last my entire pregnancy)

Shopping the tall section of Old Navy
This has been a huge lifesaver for me! I’m tall anyway (5’9) so a lot of times I prefer to shop this section online. But I found that during pregnancy it was extra helpful because of the added length the items give. They fit over my bump so nicely. Towards the end of pregnancy I’ve now been ordering tall items but in one size up from my normal size. This will also ensure a great fit for me postpartum when I need the extra room.

Cardigans
I think you all know by now that I have a serious obsession with cardigans! But for good reasons, because without them I wouldn’t have been able to dress my bump so easily the last 7 months. I love throwing these over anything and everything. Even when I’m lounging around the house, a lot of times I’ll have my cardigans on. I’ll link my top favorites below for you!

Flowy blouses/tops
Anything flowy is always a great option for dressing your bump, and the great thing is…they are great postpartum too! So instead of buying items for pregnancy, and then buying for postpartum too, you are only buying it once. This saves you money and time which is always a win!

I think if you have some great maternity basics such as layering t-shirts and tanks, then you can add in these other items to all work together. I still think you will need a couple pairs of great maternity jeans too. I have loved Jessica Simpson maternity jeans which you can find here.
I hope this will give you some ideas on how to dress your beautiful baby bumps without breaking the bank. It’s such a short amount of time to buy a whole new wardrobe for, so finding items that will work during and after is key!
Thanks for stopping by!
XO Becca
