Capsule wardrobes are probably my most highly requested subject. Women love the idea of simplicity and organization when it comes to their closet. We want options, but without feeling overwhelmed. Creating a capsule wardrobe for each season will not only help you feel organized, but will save you lots of money in the long run. Which who doesn’t love saving money? At the very least, your husband will thank you! It will also save you a lot of time when choosing your outfits because you wont have a lot of excess items to navigate through. Basically what I’m trying to say is…it’s a win all the way around!

I put together a list of staples I think you will get the most wear out of this spring, and that you can easily mix and match countless ways. Everything will be linked for you in case you are in need of some of these pieces.

Outer Layers

Denim jacket

Spring jacket

Lightweight cardigans (I would get at least two color options)

Bottoms

White jeans and Colored jeans (2 different color options of colored jeans would be best)

Light wash and Dark wash jeans

Denim shorts (I would suggest getting 2 different styles of denim shorts)

Casual Tops

Basic layering tanks (I would get 2-3 color options)

Basic layering t-shirts (Again I would suggest getting 2-3 colors)

Chambray shirt (It’s nice to have a dark and light option)

Front knot t-shirt

Dressy Tops

Floral blouse

Lightweight tunic

Dresses

T-shirt dress (2 color options would be optimal)

Dress for work or play

Shoes

Classic sandal

Light colored sneaker and Dark colored sneaker

Nude heel

Peep toe booties

Now let’s check out all the awesome outfits you can put together with the items listed above! This is what I love about capsule wardrobes. It pushes you to think outside the box and get creative with your closet. The possibilities are really endless if you pick the right items to make up your capsule. Get inspired with these spriny looks below!

I hope this gives you some fresh inspiration on how to create a more simple yet endless wardrobe. I could have created so many more looks with these pieces, but the best part is you taking it and putting your own fun twist on it! Each individual’s capsule is going to look a little different based on that persons color preferences. The items I linked in the above list come in several color options so you can personalize these looks in any way you want, and the best part is they are all budget friendly! Now I’m totally in the mood for all things spring! If only the weather would cooperate now….

Thanks for stopping by ladies, and if you have any questions leave them in the comments below.

Happy Capsuling!

XO Becca

  1. Do you have any suggestions on picking colored items? I tend to purchase everything in the same color in hopes that I can mix and match easier and then before I know it all my shirts, tanks and cardigans are the same color and its too matchy matchy. Or my other trend is to buy everything in black, because “black matches everything” and then I have a super boring closet. Maybe purchasing a dark and light of each item (tanks, tshirt, cardigan, dress)?
