Hi friends! Since the page has grown so much lately, I thought it might be fun to share 5 things you may not know about me. This is a good way to get to know me on a more personal level, and understand my background a little.
#1 I was homeschooled
When I tell people this, they are always a little bit shocked. If you know me personally, then you know I’m very outgoing! For some reason, homeschooling has this stereotype that you’re a little socially awkward. So when they hear I was homeschooled all my years of school it surprises them. While homeschooling wasn’t always easy, and being made fun of for it was definitely not easy. I did enjoy the flexibility it had, and I loved spending that time at home with my siblings and Mom. My husband was also homeschooled until he reached high school, and then he attended a public school to play sports. We plan on homeschooling our kids too!
#2 I’m a pastor’s kid
My amazing Dad has been a pastor for over 40 years, and I have been in the same church where he preaches since I was born. If there are any pastor’s children reading this, then you know this title has some weight to it. You are looked at by those around you to have it all figured out! Guess what?! I didn’t, and still don’t. I’m just a normal person who needs the Lord’s daily guidance just like anyone else. I went through a few tough years of rebellion in my teenage years, but thanks be to God’s GRACE (the whole theme behind my page) for loving me and being patient with me even in my struggles! I love that my kids get to grow up in the church that I did, and listen to their Papa preach every Sunday! Such great blessings from the Lord!
#3 I come from a big family
There are 6 kids in my family and I absolutely LOVE it! I fall at number 5 in the line up. I have 2 older brothers, 2 older sisters and a younger sister. They are each so different and hold such a special place in my heart! We all live within 30 minutes of each other and get together often. It’s so fun watching all our kids grow up and make memories together like we did!
#4 I dated my husband for only 3 months before we got engaged
This one always gets a funny reaction out of people! My husband and I grew up in the same church, and our parents were good friends. But they moved 45 min away when I was pretty young and we didn’t really keep in contact much after that. He was 5 years older than me, so he was always running around with my older siblings, and I was playing with his sister who is the same age as me. Fast forward about 15 years where we reconnected thanks to the good ole Facebook. He asked me on a date, and the rest is history! I knew instantly that he was the one, and 3 short months into dating he proposed and I of course said YES! Four months after that we were married, and now we’ve been married for almost 7 years. I’ll tell more about our love story closer to our anniversary in the spring!
#5 I’ve always dreamed of owning my own boutique
You all know I love all things fashion, and having my own store front has always been a huge dream of mine. I think it would be so fun to own a store filled with the beautiful clothes, shoes and jewelry and also run my blog from the store. I don’t know what God has for my future, but it’s fun to dream!
So did any of these surprise you? It’s fun to share a little bit about what makes me who I am, and how I got to this place. I hope you enjoyed reading this! Thanks for stopping by!
XO Becca
