I can’t believe it’s been one year already since I started my blog! What a year it has been! I thought it would be fun to do a little recap of my first year. Share where it started and how we got to where we are now.
December 12th 2016 I started my Facebook blog with a little encouragement from friends and family. I have always loved anything fashion and beauty related, but hadn’t found a way to incorporate that into my stay at home mom life. I had stumbled upon a few fashion blogs here and there, and I thought “hey I could do that!” But I wanted to take a little different approach. A lot of blogs I saw were filled with fancy clothes and high end prices. That wasn’t practical for me. As a lot of you know from following me, I am a major bargain hunter, and love thrift shopping. Something about finding a great deal is so satisfying, plus who doesn’t love saving money? So that was my angle with starting this blog. To share deals, share thrifting finds, and to help encourage women to make the most out of their wardrobe. Sure, I post some high end pieces every now and then, but almost everything you find on my page will be under $50.
So that’s where it began. I started this blog purely as a fun hobby, creative outlet, and with the hopes to help and encourage other women. I had no idea that my little page would grow into what it is today. I am so humbled that anyone wants to follow my page, let alone hit over 10k followers….WHAT?! How is that even possible? I will tell you, I would not have gotten here without my blogging friends. For instance, my friend Jessica from Wear It For Less reached out to me in June of this year encouraging me to take the next step in my blog…using affiliate links so I could start earning money for my blogging. I had no idea what they were or how to use them. She walked me through it step by step and answered my countless questions in the weeks to come. She also featured me on her page many times which sent me a lot of traffic. I am so grateful for her taking the time to walk me through this whole blogging thing, and encouraging me every step of the way! Since then, I have met several other blogging friends who I adore and love connecting with.
I truly believe God gave me this opportunity so I could connect with and encourage other women! I love getting messages from you guys asking me questions and looking for outfit ideas. I am no fashion expert, but it is something I enjoy very much and if I can help in any way, I want to! There is nothing worse than walking around self conscious. I would know! I spent years of being so self conscious in who I was. Once I realized that its not what you’re wearing that makes you cool or acceptable, but what’s inside you, a lot changed for me. Clothes and makeup are so fun, but they aren’t going to truly fulfill you. They are just an accessory to the beautiful person you already are, and that’s what I want to get across to each and every one of you. I want you all to feel encouraged when you come to my page, and never feel like I’m encouraging anyone to be anything different than the person God created them to be! I am just a small town Mom, and I don’t have a lot to offer. But I can share my experiences with you in hopes that it helps someone.
Let’s take a look back at some of my posts from this past year.

Here is to another great year! I can’t wait to see what God has in store for
Clothed In Grace!
