Transitioning into fall and fall time are my favorite times of the year! I love pulling all those cardigans and cozy sweaters out of storage. It’s so fun to look through my fall/winter bins, and think of how I can pair those items with some of the summer tops I loved. If you are not ready to pack away those summer pieces you just bought and love, you don’t have to. I’m here today to show you how to pair those summer items along with your fall items to make the perfect outfits for the changing seasons.
#1 Long cardigans over tanks/t-shirts
These Old Navy cardigans are going to be on repeat in my closet this fall! I own this in 3 colors, and am loving it! Layering for fall is all about the outerwear. A great cardigan is definitely something to stock up on. If you find one you like, snag it in a few colors because you can never go wrong with cardigan options! I love that these are a lighter weight linen blend, and look great over tanks and tshirts without looking too bulky.
#2 Tanks with bomber jackets
Blue bomber jacket
Similar green jacket
Bomber jackets are going to be popular again this fall and I’m super excited about it. I love the way these look, and how easy they are to spruce up an outfit. They are perfect for transitioning into fall, and look great paired over your favorite tanks and t-shirts.
#3 Chambray over tanks/t-shirts
Who would of thought you could use a chambray shirt as a outer layering piece? If it’s not quite cold enough for a cardigan, then a chambray shirt is a great option.
#4 Vests over t-shirts
Similar olive vest
Similar jean jacket
Vests are probably my favorite layering pieces for fall. I especially love my olive vest and all the things I can pair with it! But vests aren’t just for over sweaters and flannels. You can definitely pair them with your short sleeve tops also. Perfect for the in between summer/fall season.
#5 Dresses with cardigans/jean jackets
Similar jean jacket
Similar duster
No need to pack away those summer dresses right away. Pairing them with jean jackets and long cardigans are perfect for fall. As long as the dresses aren’t floral, I say you can pretty much wear any of those summer dresses into the fall with cardigans. I love the duster length cardigans with my tshirt dresses. The cream one I’m wearing above is actually from Walmart last season, and I really hope they bring them back, because I wear this one all the time and would love some other colors!
Hopefully this post gives you some ideas of how to pair your favorite summer pieces for fall. I am really looking forward to fall, and can’t wait to mix and match some outfits using my summer items. Because let’s face it, us ladies love to get the most for our money, and need to find ways to make our items more versatile and worth while! 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
