Fashion Taboos. You know, those fashion trends we steered clear of because someone, somewhere decided it wasn’t cool. Who decides that anyway? I always wonder, who makes things cool and not cool. Celebrities? Magazines? TV Shows? I say, start your own trend and make it cool! 😉 Today I’m talking about a few fashion trends that used to be a big no no, but are now super on trend.
#1 Wearing brown and black together
This was always a big no go, but I’m seeing it more and more now, and I love it! I think it looks so classy together. I especially love brown boots with black pants. I’m a fan!

#2 White pants in winter
I remember always packing away my white clothing after Labor Day, and don’t you dare pull it out before Memorial Day. This was always the rule of thumb, and I always followed it. Until just recently when I decided it looks really nice in winter. Hello, snow is white, so why wouldn’t we wear white in winter also? Â I’m loving it this year!

#3 Pattern mixing
Remember when everything had to be matchy matchy? It was kinda “out there” to mix patterns. That is totally not the case. Mixing patterns is such a fun way to spice up your wardrobe. As long as your colors and patterns coordinate well, then I say go for it! I do this often.

So here is what I have to say. Don’t worry about following those “rules” on what you can and can’t wear based on the seasons. If you like it, and feel confident in it, then rock it! I wear things all the time that people are probably like “oh, she totally shouldn’t be wearing that together.” Well, I like it and I’m going to wear it, end of story. Step out of the box, and have fun with your wardrobe. You’ll be surprised how many different outfits you can come up with when you start mixing and matching things. I would love to hear about the fashion taboos you enjoy wearing. Drop a comment below! Xo

Okay, Becca, what about corduroy pants, yeah or nay? If yeah, can you show coduroy pants with shirt outfits?
I’ll be honest, cords aren’t my personal favorite on myself. I do have 2 pairs of skinny cut cords in a bright color that I don’t mind. But I’m not seeing a lot of cords in the trends this year. But like I said in this post, if you love them, then wear them. I’m happy to email you some looks of how to style them if you would like? 🙂
