Capsule wardrobe. I’m seeing this more and more lately. Women like the simplicity of the “capsule wardrobe”. This means, classic simple pieces that never go out of style and can be worn several different ways. Alot of women want to simplify their closet, so it’s easier to pick out their outfits daily. If this is you, then I hope this will be helpful. When putting together your capsule wardrobe, organize by season. I’m concentrating on winter in today’s post. First, start by thinking “classic pieces in neutral colors.” Such as, grey, black, and cream. These colors look good on everyone, and never go out of style. I’m going to list 20 pieces that make up my staple winter wardrobe. These all can be mix and matched several different ways. So even if you wear the same shirt 2 or 3 times in a week, if you pair it with a different piece, it gives the effect you’re wearing a whole new outfit.
#1 Light Colored Sweater – This is a classic piece that can be dressed up or down.
#2 Dark Colored Sweater
#3 Light Colored Oversized Cardigan -Cardigans are a must in my wardrobe. They are cozy, look great, and are easy to throw on over anything.
#4 Dark Colored Oversized Cardigan – Everyone needs a basic black cardigan in their closet. I pair this with so much! I picked up this new one from Express this week.
#5 Black Dressy Blouse – These are perfect for date night, church, or any special event.
#6 Little Black Dress – Everyone needs the perfect LBD in their closet. It’s a flattering color on everyone, and the perfect grab and go when your unsure of what to wear. It’s a timeless staple.
#7 Chambray Top – I LOVE chambray and layer it with everything. It’s the perfect layering piece for any outift.
#8 Neutral Tunic – This is a great date night piece also.
#9 Stripe Top – I love a stripe top to layer with. I wear these under everything, including #10. I love stripes and buffalo check together!
#10 Buffalo Check (or any classic flannel) – You can never go wrong with a flannel. When in doubt, throw a flannel on. 🙂
#11 Dressy Jeans – I like to have a pair of dressier jeans when pairing with a nice blouse or sweater. Great for date night.
#12 Casual Jeans – I wear my destressed jeans almost every day. I have a couple different pairs, and I love how they look with my everyday tops.
#13 Graphic Tee – These are great, and easy to throw on for play dates, or grocery shopping.
#14 Cozy Sweatshirt – I live in sweatshirts in the winter. Perfect for running errands or lounging around the house.
#15 Basic Layering Tee – White and Black basic layering shirts are a must. They are perfect under those oversized cardigans. I just picked these up at Gap this week. I wear them so much, that my old ones needed replacing.
#16 Green Utility Jacket – These are so popular, and I love the way they look. They look great over a plain tee, or a flannel. Love layering with this piece!
#17 Cargo Style Vest – Same as above. A great layering piece and very trendy!
#18 Down Vest – My personal favorite! I wear these all the time. I love the added style it gives to my outfit.
#19 Black Leather Motor Jacket – Great date night piece. These can be worn over a dressy or casual top. Super trendy this year!
#20 Patterned Scarf – A scarf gives a completely different look to your outift. So if you aren’t digging the plain shirt you are wearing, throw on a fun scarf to jazz it up!
Those are my 20 staple pieces for Winter. I didn’t add shoes or accessories to this because I thought that would get confusing. If you are looking to simplify your wardrobe and keep some staple pieces that can be worn many different ways. Then the Capsule Wardrobe would be perfect for you! Let me know if you have any questions. Xo

I’ve never heard of a Capsule Wardrobe, but it is a really neat concept. I usually never wear cream or white…but I think I maybe should invest in a few items that color. Are you ever afraid wearing cream in the winter will wash you out?
I love wearing cream and white. And no, I don’t think it washes people out. I think if you pair it right, you shouldn’t have any problems. You can even where white pants in the winter now, which used to be a huge fashion no! I love winter white. It’s very classy and timeless!
